The doctor is in. For North Texans needing a doctor, an online ratings list is now available.
Angie's List recently added about 70 categories of Dallas-Fort Worth-area doctors,
dentists and insurers to its expanding service that also includes
household services, says Cheryl Reed, director of communications with
Angie's List.
New medical categories include primary-care
physicians, dentists, family and internal practitioners, labs, pain
management, kidney care, sports medicine, urology, dermatology,
orthotics, radiology and more, she says.
More than
650,000 nationwide members rate nearly 350 categories, from
pediatricians to plumbers, on price, quality, responsiveness,
punctuality and professionalism.
Members pay $47 for one
year or $5.95 monthly with a $10 sign-up fee. Nearly 18,000 Dallasites
have signed up.
And as more members submit their reports, the categories keep growing.
The service had a grassroots beginning when Harvard MBA Angie Hicks
canvassed her Columbus, Ohio, neighborhood in the mid-'90s for input on
area services.
Since then, Angie's List has earned spots several times on Inc. magazine's Inc. 500 list as one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the nation.
