Greetings!
Saw this on the O&P list serv last week. Someone wrote in and wanted to know if anyone else was getting requests to guarantee that their patients' legs would not come off on certain amusement park rides.
You could get some (as Posh Spice would say) MAYJAH publicity by piggybacking on that post.
Here's some info right off of Cedar Point's website
Prosthetic Devices
Guests with any type of prosthesis should not ride Power
Tower, Raptor, Skyscraper, Skyhawk,
Wave Swinger or Wicked Twister unless they can ensure the device is properly
secured and will remain in place during the ride.
If there is any concern of
the prosthesis becoming dislodged during the ride, guests should contact the
Park Operations Office for assistance.
The manufacturer of Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster require
documentation from the manufacturer of the prosthetic device guaranteeing that
the prosthetic device has been designed to remain in place on a high speed
roller coaster ride exceeding a maximum speed of 120 MPH
(70 MPH Maverick) with maximum G forces from
-1.5 G's to 5 Gs with sufficient safety factor for single point failure. Questions?
Please call 419-627-2301 prior to your visit. And from Six Flags website FAQ's
Are there restrictions for guests with prosthetic devices?
There are restrictions on certain rides, depending on the
prosthetic device. Please visit Guest Relations to pick up our ADA Guide. Breast prosthses? Wig/hair prostheses? Eye/ear/cosmetic prostheses?....Just asking....
How to piggyback? Pitch it to your local news media. How? You're just going to have to call me. 860-967-4184.

And contrary to the title, he's NO dummy!
Craig's just vastly increased his "internet real estate" holdings by putting up on a blog and linking it to his website. (And updating it regularly!)
Way to drive traffic and boost your search engine rankings! Not to mention speak directly to your target markets. BIG Gold star for you!

Craig DeCamp, CO, BOCPO of Mobile Limb and Brace had this to say... "Hey Elizabeth,
Super presentation, I can't even imagine the WOW factor if
you had picts?!?!
I got more out of it than I thought I would and you gave me
more focus for my efforts.
I got my blog up last week and it was as easy as you said. It
is almost fun putting it together and once it is up and running it doesn't take
long to update." Editor's (That's me!) Note: Craig attended my "Blogging for Dummies" presentation at the MWCAAOP meeting in Joliet, IL. He took notes and set up the Mobile Limb and Brace Blog. Well done Craig!
