TEEN ACTING/WRITING WORKSHOP

(For Grades 9-12)

Instructor: Ann Wilkinson Ellis

Saturdays, April 14 - May 26 

2pm-4pm

Tuition: $85

Producer, writer, and director Ann Wilkinson Ellis will coach students through aspects of the Sanford Meisner acting technique coupled with scenework, improvisation, and writing. The writing portion of this program focuses on new works developed and performed by the students. 

 

 

PERFORMING SHAKESPEARE

(For Grades 8-12) 

Instructor: Tom Challinor

Mondays & Wednesdays, April 11 - June 8

4pm-5:30pm

Tuition: $75

Join this company of teenage actors and take your Shakespeare skills to a new level by performing in The 15 Minute Hamlet. This brief yet sophisticated production will be performed flash mob style at multiple surprise locations and as part of the BPA Theatre School Play Festival.

   

 

YOUNG ACTORS AUDITION WORKSHOP

(For Ages 10-18)

Instructor: Dinah Manoff

Sunday, April 22

9:30am-1pm

Tuition: $50

Professional actress,director,and TV star Dinah Manoff will be coaching students on how to have a successful audition. This workshop will use a variety of activities paired with monologue work leaving students with a bundle of useful actor knowledge. One day only!

 

 

SCENE STUDY I: THE PROCESS

(For Ages 18 and Up)

Instructor: Aaron Tuttle

Saturdays, April 14 - May 19

2pm-4pm

Tuition: $85

Warm up your acting skills this spring in a scene study class! Work with other students, explore scenes on your feet and be coached to create a meaningful final product. Scene work will strengthen your acting skills and challenge you to connect with other actors while collaborating with a director.

  

 

SCENE STUDY II: THE PRODUCTION

(For Ages 18 and Up)

Instructor: Aaron Tuttle

Saturdays, April 14- May 19

4pm-6pm

Tuition: $120

SCENE STUDY II will explore the actor's process with an emphasis on a final product. We will act with a focus on collaboration through selected scenes using the actor's vocabulary. Students who have taken SCENE STUDY I are encouraged to take this next level of scene study that will culminate in a final scene presentation.

 

 

SHAKESPEARE APPRECIATION

(For Adults and Students of any age)

Instructor: Tom Challinor

Mondays beginning April 16

7pm-8:30pm

Tuition: $25/play

This class is a weekly reading and discussion of Shakespeare's works. Brought to you by the newly-founded Bainbridge Shakespeare Society, this group will read plays aloud with roles assigned to those who wish to participate.  Particular attention during discussion will be paid to the mechanisms and structures of Shakespeare's text and to the choices that actors make as they construct characters. The first play will be Shakespeare's last: The Tempest.

 

 

SENIOR ADULT SUMMER PROGRAM

(For Ages 55 and Up)

Instructor: Doug Hill

Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 22- June 30

1:00pm-4:00pm

Tuition: FREE with $10 registration fee

BPA has the opportunity to host guest artist Doug Hill for a six-week acting program this summer for senior adults! Doug is a published playwright and director known nationally for his senior adult acting programs and has appeared on the TODAY SHOW and NBC NIGHTLY NEWS.  This six week program will focus on Oral History Theatre and Reader's Theatre and will culminate in a final performance showcasing the talents and life lessons of our local Senior Adult community.
