Join the Charleston Museum's Melanie Wilson for a beginner level weaving workshop! Students will learn the fundamentals of weaving, such as dressing the loom, learning a variety of woven patterns, and exploring color & texture on a four-harness loom. Melanie will explain the basic parts of the loom and demonstrate how to warp the loom to yield different patterns. Students will experience weaving on the Museum's four-harness loom and tabletop loom during the class, as well as a hand loom to keep. We will take a break from weaving with a mini-tour of woven items from the Museum's collection. All materials supplied.
