  • Altered Plant Stake
  • I found this plant stake in the summer clearance isle at JoAnn's a couple of weeks ago and just knew I wanted to alter it with this months kit. This design could also be applied to a gift bag or converted to a greeting card, mini wall hanging or refrigerator magnet. The small text on the cream cardstock reads: Scarecrows, corn rows, pumpkins on the vine, leaves curl, wind swirls, fall is right on time.

Supplies from September Plush Pak: Chocolate Coating Patterned Paper, Cardstock Letter Stickers (Welcome), White Ribbon, Brown Antique Ribbon, Flower Coaster, Orange Chipboard Coasters (fall)

Miscellaneous Supplies: Green Button, Glitter Glue, Orange Ribbon, Green and Orange/Yellow Ink, Cream cardstock

    Instructions:

    1. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 piece of the Chocolate Coating patterned paper. Round the corners of the patterned paper and adhere to the plant stake.
    2. Place the "welcome" stickers along the top of the stake. Apply ink to the edges.
    3. Apply a coating of glitter glue to the flower coaster .
    4. While your coaster is drying print your text on a small piece of cream cardstock approximately 1-1/2" x 3 inches. Tear the left edge of the cream cardstock and ink the edges. Add this to the lower left of your plant stake or card leaving a little of the torn edge hanging off the left side of your design.
    5. Adhere the orange chipboard letters to the plant stake. Don't worry if you don't have these exact letters...you can use any chipboard or large letter stickers. If the colors don't match up give them a coat of orange paint.
    6. Tie a small bit of ribbon around the "f" in fall.
    7. Glue your flower coaster to the bottom right of the design and adhere a button to the center.
    8. Tie ribbons around the plant stake and let them dangle.

If you decide to convert this to a wall hanging just punch two holes at the top corners of your design and thread the ribbon through them and tie knots near the ends. Have fun!
