Classy Card Ideas

Greetings!

Hello and welcome to all the new Classy Scrappers! We are glad you found us and hope that you enjoy your first issue of the Classy Scrapper News.

I sure am enjoying a scrapbook-filled summer! I have had the pleasure of cropping with so many different people at my monthly classes/crops, local area store crops, conventions and retreats. It seems I'm cropping every other weekend and sometimes every weekend. It's such a great way to get pages done and enjoy the company of others who scrapbook.

Hopefully, you have been out croppin' too and have been able to share your love of scrapbooking with others.

We'd like to share our love of scrapbooking with you! I hope that we inspire you to try something different. There are plenty of ideas here for getting those pages done and be sure to check out the online gallery for plenty of layout ideas and sketches to ignite your creativity!

Enjoy,Tiare

  • Altered Photo Box Frame
  • I've had this clear box photo frame sitting on my scrap table forever, just waiting to be altered. This was really simple to make!

Supplies: 3 scraps of paper measuring 4x3, 2x4, and 4x1 1 picture, cropped to 3.25x2 1 piece of ribbon measuring 3", 1 flower-I used a flower from a previous pak, but the July pak also comes with some great flowers. 1 tag-I cut off about 1" of it so I can use the rest later. Heidi Swapp heart shaped foam stamp Liquid Chalk ink in Chestnut Roan Corner rounder

    Directions:

    1. Start by adhering the 4"x1" paper along the top (the red paper). Then adhere the 2"x4" piece along one side (the blue paper), and finally the 4"x3" piece (the Love paper). I used glue dots as adhesive on this, but you could also mod podge it.
    2. Place the ribbon in the upper left hand corner, over the red paper.
    3. Round the bottom left corner of the picture, and place it in the upper right hand corner.
    4. Stamp two hearts over the love paper
    5. Adhere flower onto the ribbon.
    6. Adhere the tag along the side of the love paper, and journal on it.

That's it! Super easy, super cute altered photo box!

  • How'd You Create That Layout?
  • Blossom by Shelly Boyd, Classy Coach

Supplies Needed: 1 12x12 Fabulous Patterned Paper, 1 Floral Chic Rub Sheet, Various Mini Flowers, Misc. brads for centers of mini flowers, 1 4x10 photo.

This is a really simple and quick layout but I loved the results. While I only used one large photo on this layout there are lots of variations you could do. Originally, I thought I would use several differerent and much smaller photos where I placed my one photo but decided to keep it simple. I think the most important part of this layout is using the existing pattern on the paper and following the line it creates.

    Instructions:

    1. To start, I left a 1/4 white border on the photo when I trimmed it..
    2. Apply the rub-on quote and frame directly to the photo.
    3. Then adhere mini flowers to the top right corner of the photo and I added another one to Meganne's hair.

Some other things you might do with your layout is add a bit of lace under the length of the photo or some photo corners instead of the white border. If you don't care for all the empty blue space add some doodling or stamp work and journal around the stamping/doodling. These things are some of the things I considered for my layout but decided to keep this new favorite photo simple. The possibilities are definitely endless. Have fun!!!

Supplies: Fancy Pants Floral Chic Fabulous paper, Fancy Pants Floral Chic Fairytale paper, orange cardstock, red cardstock, ribbon, pair of chipboard brackets, Floral Chic rub ons, silk flowers, brad, ink.

    Instructions:

    1. Cut 8 or 9 strips of striped Fabulous paper from the Fancy Pants Floral Chic Collection that are 11 1/2" long and between 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" wide.
    2. Cut 8 1/4" x 10 1/2" pieces of orange and red cardstock. Adhere these together with the orange on top. The red should stick out 1/4" on the right and bottom edges.
    3. Use the Fairytale paper as a background. Cut a piece from the Fairytale background approx. 8 1/2" x 6 1/2". Cut this from the background that would be behind the orange and red cardstock.
    4. Adhere the 8 or 9 strips of Fabulous on the background paper starting 1" from the left edge and ending 2" from the right edge. These pieces should each be angled slightly.
    5. Adhere the inked beige Fairytale piece 1/4" from the left of the orange mat and 1 1/4" from the top of the orange mat. Your photo goes on the Fairytale mat.
    6. Attach a corner rub on in the upper right of the orange mat.
    7. Attach the orange/red ribbon across the page, 3 5/8"
    8. Ink brackets with brown ink. Attach these ¼" from the bottom of the page with the title between the brackets.
    9. Add a double silk flwer with a brad near the title.
