Meet Our Managers
This month, we feature Pepper Cote, manager of our San Bernadino location, with FSS since 1994.
Hot product in your store right now?
The hottest thing in our store right now is us...it's So Cal and no AC!! Our hottest products are the remote control lights. The minute we demonstrate the LED lights with the remote control it's a done deal...The remote and lights are such a good price and lights are a hot idea for centerpieces right now.
Funny or unusual occurrence in your store? Funny incidents are not hard to come by here--we have had quite a few! Once a customer came in and purchased a few of our large columns; when I took them outside, I asked where he was parked, and he pointed to a little convertible Mazda Miata. He took them, loaded them, held on and drove off. It's amazing what you can fit in a convertible! Then there was the time we used a casket for display here in the store and rigged a tennis ball inside the casket attached to some fishing line that we could control from behind the counter: when customers walked by, we would pull the string and it would sound like someone was banging on the lid of the casket. Let's just say we had our share of puzzled customers! Last movie you saw? Magic Mike...I had to see what all the excitement was about...and let me just say, definitely a girls' flick! Favorite vacation spot? I love all vacations and try and go someplace new every chance I get. I truly love going to Glamis since I'm a dirt girl but have enjoyed Arizona, New York, Colorado, Montana and Oregon .... oh wait ... it seems I love visiting my family--that's where they are :)
Your favorite holiday? I think New Years is my favorite: fresh starts, good friends, and food. Usually the desert is involved, riding and just sharing stories.
Favorite comfort food? When I'm not feeling well, the only thing
that sounds good to me is McDonald's. In my "spare time," I enjoy baking and usually have fresh treats here for my crew.
