Sankofa is a word in the Akan language of Ghana, West Africa, which is symbolized by the Asante Adinkra symbol of a bird with its head turned backwards taking an egg off its back.
The Sankofa bird represents one taking from the past what is good and bringing it into the present in order to make positive progress through the benevolent use of knowledge.
We have adopted the Sankofa bird as our SANKOFA LIFE NETWORK logo to remind us to ever seek "ancient wisdom" from the Divine, the "I of True Self."
This wisdom is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. It is written in the code of our DNA and is the source of all Knowing. It is our link from the past to the future - our Ancient Future.
