An opportunity to establish a secure connection for health information exchange (HIE) is now available to Arizona providers at no charge. The Arizona HIE Marketplace, administered by AzHeC under the direction of the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology office, provides viable HIE options to all Arizona providers. To encourage the development of Direct Exchange provider networks in Arizona, AzHeC is offering providers the opportunity to participate in the Direct Exchange Demonstration Project, a one-year project where 600 providers will demonstrate the use of Direct messaging for the secure transmission of patient health information.

While AzHeC works to finalize the logistics of the program with participating Direct vendors, up to 600 Arizona providers are being actively recruited for participation in the demonstration.  Those who participate in the Direct Exchange Demonstration Project will receive the first annual security certificate and 12 months of Direct Exchange services at no charge.
