REC Workforce Development/Intern Program
Providing extra hands and skills to assist with electronic health records and Meaningful Use
As part of its program and services, the REC offers a workforce development/intern program that pairs qualified health IT interns with REC member practices and other health care organizations that support health IT. The intern program is managed and administered by ASU's Department of Biomedical Informatics, an REC collaborator organization.
Interns provide additional support and assistance to organizations and practices to support EHR implementation, optimization, Meaningful Use and other related health IT activities. Best of all, the stipend for all interns are covered by the REC (participating organizations are asked only to pay a nominal $100 application fee* to assist the REC with administrative costs).
REC interns are qualified professionals that have either health care or IT backgrounds with additional health IT training. Internships begin September 19, 2011 and end December 9, 2011. Interns work approximately 10 hours per week for a 12-week period.
If you feel your practice or organization could benefit from an intern and you are committed to providing a valuable intern experience, please take the following steps: - Go to http://bmirec.asu.edu/workforce, create a new account and complete the online application by August 31, 2011.
- Mail a $100 application fee check to:
Arizona Health-e Connection, Attn: REC Internship Program, 3877 N. 7th St, Suite 130, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
