Recently, the REC sent a REC Alert informing its members and others about the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System's (AHCCCS) plans for launching the state's Medicaid EHR Incentive Program on July 25, 2011. Please refer to this REC Alert for complete details.
Earlier this week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) sent out communication stating that Arizona's Medicaid EHR Incentive Program had begun.
While providers participating in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program can register with CMS now, they must wait until July 25, 2011 when AHCCCS opens its registration system to register with AHCCCS. Attestation with AHCCCS begins September 1, 2011.
More details about the Arizona Medicaid EHR Incentive Program can be found on the program's webpage at http://www.azahcccs.gov/HIT/.
