The short Carlsen video below is extremely important for young dentists NOT in private practice yet.
It may make the difference between whether young dental school grads can make it in private practice or always be stuck in corporate dentistry.
Please take action as requested below. It's easy and costs you only 5 minutes.
Thanks for helping to keep private practice alive.

This was sent out to meeting planners last week at the encouragement of a practice consultant who everyone's heard of. Unfortunately, the cycle of debt is potentially much worse for young grads with the huge student loan burden carried at the beginning of their careers.
Dentist Bottom Line: Something has to be done now or we will see the death of private practice in ten years. It happened to MDs in the eighties and it cam happen to our profession just as quickly.
You can help. It's easy.
1. Please click on the below link and forward this issue to a young dentist you know.
2. Please click to view my financial article from the Dentaltown Magazine 2012 Special New Grad/Student Edition.
Either print it off and send to a young dentist or "save as" a pdf document and email.
With each forward of this newsletter issue or email of the article, you will be keeping private practice alive. |

How Is Apple Like Enron?
4 minute video
Wall Street Journal Live provides an interview with analyst Mark Hulbert, author of the top-rated Hulbert Digest newsletter.
Hulbert posits that Wall Street projects a lopsided positive outlook for Apple's future. Is it valid? Hulbert compares Apple to the uber-bullish sentiment a month before Enron's collapse in 2001. Is he predicting a similar collapse?
Dentist Bottom Line: Hulbert: "Don't look to Wall Street for when to sell a stock."
Remember, investors are in the whole market for the long run, not relying on trading of individual stocks. Those who speculate rely on trading.

Job Market Facing College Grads
4 minute video
David Lebron, President of Rice University, states that unemployment for college grads aged 20-24 is 11.5%; not good, but much lower than those with only a high school diploma. Additional thoughts are given.
Dentist Bottom Line: A college degree is worth about $1 million in additional lifetime income versus those without. But debt still is a major issue, especially at private institutions such as Rice University.
My advice, having graduated from a private liberal arts college, is to always weigh the potential debt burden against "prestige." Great educations are available at state colleges and universities.
