Greetings!
I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank you for the volunteerism and support that made 2011 such a tremendously successful year for IAPSC.
We will be reporting our past and future activities and new initiatives to you at our upcoming Annual Conference in Miami in April. With Bill Bratton as keynote, you will not want to miss the Miami Conference in April - a tremendous program has been developed by our Conference Chair Kelly Klatt, his conference assistant Chezka Solon and his committee members.
Our Board has been absolutely great and our Executive Committee I believe is unmatched in quality and professionalism, thanks to each of them for their untiring work and dedication this past year.[read more]
The CSC Certification Committee is currently developing a CSC Exam Preparation Course Webinar, which will be available for purchase as an additional study resource. To get involved, please contact committee chair Ron Heil.
A survey of professional architects and design engineers is currently being conducted by the Technical Standards Committee to gain insight into their security concerns as a means to develop viable security training programs. Committee chair: Frank Pisciotta
Best Practice #3: Use of Force Ad-Hoc Committee is currently reviewing the first round of member commentary on the first draft of this Best Practice document, issued in August 2011. A second round of member commentary on a revised draft will be requested shortly. Committee chair: Al Zajic
Kevin Murray is currently leading the Website Committee in a redesign and update of the association's website IAPSC.org. Watch for exciting new features and a fresh new look coming soon!
The Strategic Planning and Regional Seminar Committees are currently recruiting volunteers to chair an IAPSC regional seminar, like the seminar hosted by Dave Aggleton in New York City last year (see member's library for details). Committee chair: Frank Pisciotta
Mark Lex is working with the Membership Committee on an initiative to bring more Internal Consultant members into the association. The committee is also working to enhance the Mentor Program for new members. 2011 was a very successful year for membership, resulting in a total of 131 members by the end of 2011 -- the highest since 2004! Call for Nominations
The 2012 Nominating Committee is currently developing the slate of candidates for the 2012-13 IAPSC Board of Directors election. Submit your nominations to iapsc@iapsc.org by February 25.
With the New Year in full swing, the IAPSC Strategic Planning Committee once again requests the support of our membership with writing a testimonial which will be posted on IAPSC's website.
We recognize that each member has a unique story or thought to convey about our association and we want to offer you this opportunity to share yours. The committee would also like to thank those of you who have already participated - your contributions are greatly appreciated.
