Each month, this newsletter tries to bring you information on topics that relate to how and where ASSIST-U.S.® services can contribute to organizations that need enhanced visual information to execute their mission.

Despite budget constraints, their need to be able to manage critical situations has not changed, yet internal government sources of aerial support have been severely cut back.

ASSIST-U.S.^® Helps Governments Save Funds While Maintaining or Increasing Service Levels

Our country, the businesses that function within it, and the individuals who both depend on and are the foundation of these entities have been through very difficult economic times over the last several years. Whether we choose to call it the "second great depression" or simply a severe recession, the banking and mortgage debacle, bursting of the real estate bubble, increase in unemployment and all the resulting challenges have strained almost every area of our society. As budgets tighten or are drastically cut, managers are looking for solutions to become more efficient. Many of my recent discussions with clients have involved our services as they directly relate to cost savings measures.  

ASSIST-U.S.^® aerial imagery services with customized mission parameters have the potential to reduce time spent on a project through immediate information feedback.  

For example, one client indicated that a recent forest fire response had required more than three hours for them to locate a fire in a remote section of their town. In this case, a quick aerial survey followed by real-time, aerial streaming video of the fire, including the access areas to the fire with geo-referenced data, would have significantly reduced the time to identify and place resources in the proper areas.
