Polluted rockpool

The small town where I grew up sprouted up around a fairly large brook that provided fresh water to five separate paper mills that employed most of the populace over many years. The water that came out of those mills was of different colors, depending upon the dyes being used by the mills.

An ASSIST-U.S.® Solution for Today's Environmental Challenges

Sadly, Gerry's story is not uncommon. Cities and towns across the country are coping with various forms of pollution that negatively impact quality of life, property values, and burden taxpayers with the cost of clean-up.

Toxic Waste Drum Removal

Even my small country neighborhood in southern New Hampshire has felt the effects of industrial pollution. Prior to 1980, over 1,600 drums of chemical waste were buried in a quarter-acre pit on a local pig farm (read story here).

With the introduction of EnviroEyeSM, ASSIST-U.S.® is pleased to provide another tool to help the environmental protection and law enforcement hazmat responder communities.

EnviroEyeSM is, in fact, a family of linked technologies and analysis services. We've assembled a variety of optical sensors and expertise that can be customized appropriately for each project. Depending on the application, a client will have access to full motion video in standard definition and high definition, high and low resolution still imagery, as well as infrared and near infrared video and still imagery. The brief video presented here provides some sample imagery for the different situations where these services are essential.
