Transforming Education with Technology

The prosperity of our nation depends upon developing a skilled workforce ready to face the challenges of the future. While all students will continue to need the basics, they will also need new skills, knowledge, and support to become civically engaged and economically self-sufficient lifelong learners.
The Foundation has released a new report, Integrating Technology with Student-Centered Learning, prepared by Babette Moeller and Tim Reitzes of the Education Development Center, Inc (EDC). To better understand how technology might be used to personalize learning for students, the report examines current literature and explores the integration of computer- and web-based tools, applications, and games, as well as video and technology associated with mechanical and electrical engineering. Technology Integration in Action |
The School of One, located in New York City, was created to initiate transformative changes in the classroom to better meet the needs of today's diverse student population. The school uses student data and assessment outcomes to determine appropriate content and levels in a manner that suits the needs of each student.
Founded in 2006, the Science Leadership Academy (SLA), located in Philadelphia, integrates technology into the curriculum that focuses on science, technology, mathematics and entrepreneurship. SLA is also working to incorporate technology into the advisory program.
