 13th Annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival
From April 27 through May 1, 2011, Virginia Theatre will be hosting the 13th Annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival. Roger Ebert has selected films for the festival which he believes are excellent. After each film is shown he will have a discussion on stage with the filmmaker and anyone who is connected to the film. This year 12-14 films will be selected. Tickets are on sale at the Virginia Theatre. Tickets are limited to 1,000 seats but an additional 500 seats may be available for sponsors and pass holders.

Artists Against AIDS 19th Annual Art Exhibition and Sale
This spring the Blue Line Station will display the work of 200 artists in a gallery for five days. The Artist against AIDS 19th Annual Art Exhibition will be a non-juried exhibition and half of the profits made from sales will go toward those with HIV/AIDS in Champaign County. This year's event will be held from April 29 through May 2, 2011. You will be able to purchase the art on display and admission to the event is FREE.

 Building a Modern Collection: A look Back
In honor of Krannert Art Museum's 50th Anniversary, the museum will be hosting a Contemporary American Painting exhibition from now through May 1, 2011. The Contemporary American Painting exhibition started in the University of Illinois in 1948 with the foresight of George D. Stoddard, Rexford Newcomb, and Frank Ross. The exhibition will focus on works that speaks on the strength of collections found in the museum. There will be 25 to 30 paintings photographs, and sculptures purchased from the Contemporary American Painting and Sculpture exhibition. The program is FREE and open to the public.
