SAFE represents nearly 600 of the industry's top aviation educators, including the majority of Master Instructors as well as numerous local and national General Aviation Awards winners in all four awards categories. SAFE is also leading the Pilot Training Reform initiative, which kicked off with a symposium in Atlanta in May 2011.

Preliminary Report Published; More Videos Uploaded
- The SAFE Symposium Committee published its preliminary report on June 6, 2011, a full month ahead of schedule. The report consolidates thirty recommendations made during the event into six proposed projects.
- The Aero-News Network has now uploaded HD video for four panel presentations: Safety, Growth, Doctrine, Standards. The luncheon keynote speech by FAA AFS-800's Mel Cintron has been uploaded as well. View the presentations on the 2011 SAFE Symposium Channel.
- We are planning a meeting during AirVenture to present a status report on post-symposium activities (details pending).

According to Aero-News Network's Paul Plack, "The FAA has issued a long awaited and desperately needed document with instructions to its Field Service District Offices (FSDO) on the issuance of Letters of Deviation Authority (LODA) allowing compensated flight instruction in experimental aircraft." |

 Lightspeed Marketing Campaign: SAFE member benefits provider and sponsor Lightspeed Aviation recently launched a headset marketing campaign featuring the stories of several SAFE members. Chair Doug Stewart spearheaded the campaign in the June issues of AOPA Pilot and Flying magazines, among others. Read Doug's profile on the Lightspeed website.

Should have experience with Constant Contact
SAFE is looking for a new editor for eNews. Applicants must be able to:
- Work with Constant Contact (or a similar email service)
- Coordinate with the Membership Database Manager to acquire updated email addresses
- Prepare and publish issues of SAFE eNews and other communiques as may be required or directed by the Board
- Archive eNews and communiques, and update the archive links page on the SAFE website
- Ensure that eNews and appropriate communiques are cross-posted to SAFE's Facebook page and Twitter account
- Coordinate with Marketing/Advertising regarding eNews sponsors/advertisers
Publication history over the last 13 months:
- (22) issues of eNews
- (18) other communiques to members
- Averaging three Constant Contact emails to members/month
