Reinvigorating CFI/DPE Workshops

| PowerPoint Slides to Trigger Discussions
by Doug Stewart, ChairNational FAASTeam Manager, Kevin Clover met with a SAFE committee comprised of Designated Pilot Examiners during AirVenture. Kevin asked if SAFE could generate a number of short PowerPoint presentations designed to reinvigorate the FAASTeam's CFI/DPE Workshops. Approximately 10 minutes in length, the presentations would act as "discussion starters" for the workshops. The first of these presentations is being finalized now for launch in October. If any of you want to volunteer to present this PowerPoint and then lead the ensuing discussion at your FSDO meetings, please let me know as soon as possible. Be sure to include which FSDO and the name of your local FAASTeam Program Manager in your email. Even if you are not interested in leading a discussion, I can't recommend strongly enough the importance of supporting this joint SAFE-FAASTeam initiative by attending these workshops. It is through efforts like this that SAFE can directly improve the quality of aviation education, while enhancing aviation safety. I urge you to take part in a workshop near you! |
SAFE Gathering During AOPA Summit

SAFE has now been assigned a meeting time and location during AOPA Summit. We will have an informal gathering on Friday, November 12th, from 1:30 to 3:00pm. Members and supporters will meet in the Pacific Room (lower level/first floor) of the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. |
CFI Liability Insurance Update

| Now Approved in 47 States
SAFE's premier CFI Liability Insurance Program was officially launched during AirVenture 2010. At that time, the program was still under review for approval by a number of state agencies. We are happy to announce that the program has now been approved in all but three states: IL, MA, NY. We will issue a communique as soon as approval is granted in these last remaining states, which we hope will be very soon. |
