It's all about the Marketing! Ad Specialties ~ Promotional Products ~ Chachkas ~ Give-Away Items
What ever you call it, promotional products have been around for hundreds of years, including Pens, T-shirts, Mugs and Magnets. Ad specialties work because they carry your message to your client.
With over 800,000 items, you're sure to find what works and is within your budget. Here are some Do's and Don'ts to watch out for:
· Cheap items: Don't just buy something for its price - ask for a sample and make sure it feels like quality. If you give a client a pen that stops writing in the first few days, they won't think much of your business.
· Logos: Make sure your logo and contact information is on every item - the whole purpose is to have them remember you, refer you and bring you new business.
· Color: Does the item match your logo/branding color scheme?
· Price appropriate: Know your market. If it's an item for an expo/convention, keep the price low - people are just going table to table filling their goody bags. If you're giving the gift to a prospective client, you want to leave a bigger impression, so a higher-end product would be more appropriate.
If you're interested in any type of promotional product, please feel free to give our parent company - Peregrine Associates - a call at 215-343-2499.

Q&A: You've got questions, we've got answers! Students falling asleep in class.
What do you do if a student falls asleep in class?
First of all, you may want to evaluate your teaching style and make it more interactive. However, we have all been there ourselves - a late night up with kids, medications causing drowsiness or numerous other reasons why we feel like nodding off.
If you notice a student starting to doze off, quickly go into an exercise or practice situation which involves getting up and walking around or, take a break allowing the individual to get some fresh air, caffeine, or cold water.
Don't take it personally, it happens - but it does need to be addressed and not ignored.

Stories from the trenches Where are you?
I was recently asked to teach a class for housekeeping, maintenance personnel and some CNA's at a large 55+ community. We were scheduled to have 20 students, all for Professional CPR and AED. We were sent to a 'house' that was used as a community center and found two students already waiting. At 9am, when the class was to start, we had three. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the training center asking where we were! I told them 'at the location where we were directed to be'. They stated the head of Human Resources was told we weren't there and several students were waiting for us. Next thing we know, we get a visit from HR and she didn't look happy! We explained we had been there well before 9. On top of that, several students were told the class was only 1 - 1.5 hours! Luckily, due to how we presented ourselves, the HR director realized those students who complained were at the wrong place! And, she made the announcement that the class was not 1-1.5 hours.
It's how you present yourself that can make the difference. In the end, we ended up with 14 students - I'm guessing we'll be called back for those that missed the class.
