Show your professionalism with Business Cards

What's one of the least expensive, but most used form of advertising? Business Cards.

What's your card say about you? Is yours designed on a word processor and printed on those perforated sheets you buy at the stationery store? When someone hands you a home grown card, what do you think of their business and quality of service? Or, is yours professionally designed and printed on nice card stock so when you hand it out, someone knows you're a professional?

And that goes for invoices, contracts and every other business stationery that has your company name on it. The more professional it looks, the more confidence your students and contacts will have in you.

Q&A: You've got questions, we've got answers!

I helped teach an EMT class last night and when I went over CPR, I realized their instructor missed out on so much!

Even if you don't know who the instructor was, remember it's always best to teach the right methods and not question the previous instructor's teaching abilities. Come across to your students as a professional and not a whiner.

Remember, EMT students need to be taught by the book to pass their practicals. Teaching what you do on the street won't help them and is not always an acceptable form of training or practice.

Got question about teaching? Or maybe how to handle a specific situation during class? Email them to us us. If we use your question, we'll send you a free stock T-shirt!

Stories from the trenches
Infant Choking
doll

Not everyone takes care of their equipment -- especially instructors that borrow mannequins and don't treat them as their own.

So, while teaching what to do for a choking infant one of the mom's starts to practice along. Imagine the surprised look of horror when the head of her infant doll goes flying across the room after her very first back blow! We do like to teach to strike hard, but...

Do you have a real-life story or an anecdote you'd like to share? Email them to us. If we use it, you'll receive a free stock T-shirt!
