 Where were you on the day St. Helens blew? I was driving back to Pullman (Go Cougs!) after a weekend home in Vancouver to visit my family (and do much-needed laundry). My buddy and I were listening to tapes, not the radio, and thought we were racing the darkest raincloud ever as we drove East. Only upon our arrival in Pullman did we learn that it was actually an "ashcloud." Classes were canceled, final exams became optional, and walking through six inches of ash to "resupply" formed a memory I'll never forget!
