Dear Members and Guests:
It's that time of year to get your membership check in. Please mail your check to Betty Potter Englishbee or give her your check at this month's meeting. To be in the Directory that comes out in April your check must be received by Feb 16th. If you would like a new or updated photo for the directory Sarah Morgan is taking photos at the Feb meeting. Please contact her directly for more information.
This month our Speaker is Rochelle Becker. She has been active on nuclear safety issues in California for 35 years. She co-founded the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility in 2005 to focus on her experience working with elected representatives and oversight agencies - both state and federal. Rochelle Is working with organizations on safety issues at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). Since Fukushima, she has done dozens of interviews and the media is following the Alliance's focus on state jurisdictional concerns. Secret word is heart. The Alliance is closely monitoring Southern California Edison's efforts to push towards license renewal at SONGS. At our meeting she will give an update on the progress and why we need to be well informed. Please join us for an exciting meeting!
Make your reservation online at RSFBPW.com and use paypal. Reservations will be closed at 5pm the Monday before our meeting.
February is Heart Health month and Valentine's Day is celebrated, just to name two...Wear a little red to our meeting just because. . . .
Decide consciously to make this year your best year ever. Let's learn from, laugh with and encourage each other to be our Best Selves. I look forward to seeing you on the 16th.
Cheers,
Julia Uhll
PRESIDENT
