Please Support the Southborough Library Fund
Coming to you in the mail any day now, is a flyer promoting the Southborough Library Fund, a non-profit, tax-exempt fund under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts. The goal is to raise $40,000 by January 31, 2012, to fund a planning study for the future needs of the Library. This year the Southborough Library celebrates 100 years at its present location in the center of our community. We eagerly anticipate that in the next century, the Library will continue to serve as the intellectual, cultural, and social center of the town. If you do not receive the flyer, you can print one out now. Or, you can simply donate online.

Our Front Entrance is Closing for the Winter
For the safety of our patrons, the Library's front entrance will be closed during times of snow and ice. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we do not want anyone to slip on our front granite stairs which often become slippery in the wet, cold weather. In addition, getting in and out of cars parked on Common Street can be dangerous when snowbanks narrow the roadway. Library Trustees have been told by the Facilities Dept. that money to re-lay the bricks on the Library's front walkway, as well as fix the dripping over the front steps, will be available in FY14. In case of an emergency, patrons will be able to exit through the front doors, as well as the side entrance. For that reason, a narrow path will be kept shoveled out front. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. |

December is Amnesty Month
Time to bring in your overdue books, DVDs, etc.
At the end of 2011 the Southborough Library, along with more than 100 other libraries, will be joining a new network called Evergreen. This new system will require all library patrons to have a library card. If you have lost your card, come to the Library from now until December 31 and we will replace your card for FREE! In addition to replacing lost library cards, we are offering an amnesty program to settle Southborough Library fines. During the first two weeks of December, bring in a non-perishable food item or paper goods (tissue, paper towels, for example) and we will forgive your fines on Southborough items. Donated items will go to the Southborough Food Bank. Thank you for your help!
