What's Happening at the Library in November
Every Good Library Needs Good Friends
friendsrainbow
Membership in our Friends of the Library group has been dwindling and it needs an injection of new blood.

Are you an avid Library user? Do you like organizing programs and fundraisers? Would you like to help ensure that our museum pass program continues and that children's programming flourishes? And, that adult programming increases?

If you answered yes to any of these questions - WE NEED YOU!

Please consider not only becoming a Friend of the Library (dues are currently $5.00 per year), but attending  monthly meetings and making good things happen!

The Friends will host a "get acquainted" social on Saturday, December 3, in conjunction with the holiday tree-trimming event at the Library.  Please plan to join us!

The Friends support the library and promote its vital role in our community by providing materials, performances and programs for the community, supporting the Library's most vital resources: its librarians and staff.

Through their book and cookie sales, Friends of the Southborough Library provide funding for our museum pass program, featuring free or reduced-admission at 16 destinations for family fun,  pizza, drinks and other goodies for children's book discussion groups and teen events, and much more.

JOIN by filling out a form at the Library front desk. Or, to learn more, call Library Director
Jane Cain for more information at 508. 485.5031.

Lost Library Card? Amnesty in November and December
At the end of 2011, the Southborough Library will be joining more than 100 other libraries in a larger network called Evergreen. This new system will require all Southborough Library patrons to have a library card.  If you have lost your card, come to the library from now until December 31 and we will replace your card for FREE!

In addition to replacing lost library cards, we are offering an amnesty program to help take care of Southborough Library fines. During the first two weeks of December, bring in a non-perishable food item or paper goods (tissue, paper towels, for example) and we will forgive your Southborough fines. Donated items will go to the Southborough Food Bank. Thank you for your help!
