June 2012, Monett Chamber of Commerce                Volume V, Issue I
Chamber
Connection

Hello Monett Chamber Members!

I am excited to send out the first Chamber Connection newsletter since taking over as Executive Director.

Over the next few months it is my goal to meet with as many Members as possible, tour all the businesses that I can and still get to know the job from inside the Chamber office.

I come to Monett with 5 1/2 years of experience at the Joplin Chamber, and am eager to take the skills I learned there to build on the current successes in Monett.

When I meet with you, don't be surprised if I ask a lot of questions about your business, Monett and your views of the Chamber in the past.

As your Executive Director, I will strive to be readily available for the Members and community at large, because as a group of professionals we can accomplish much more than any one person or organization could ever imagine.

When going about your daily lives, ask yourself "What would I like the Monett Chamber to do for me?"  Once you have an answer, give us a call or send an email because chances are that someone else might need the same thing and that could be the launching pad for the next Member event or program.

Working toward our mutual growth and success,

Jeff Meredith, Executive Director

TysonHungerRelief Tyson Foods - "Meals that Matter"

Tyson Foods, Inc., which has a history of feeding first responders and survivors in the aftermath of disasters, recently unveiled a special mobile feeding unit equipped to enhance the company's disaster relief efforts.

The 53-foot semi-trailer is outfitted with enough refrigerated space to store up to 20,000 pounds of chicken, beef or pork, a 5,500-watt generator and satellite communications. It also bears the new name of Tyson Foods' disaster relief feeding program, "Meals that Matter."

With the exception of a grill, the "Meals that Matter" unit has everything needed to set up and run a cooking site. More than 40 Tyson Foods plant sites are currently capable of responding to disasters by sending grills and Tyson volunteers to cook food.
