Licensing Sting Update
 | | President Laura Ciriello-Benedict |
We hope you have seen the WTHR Channel 13 undercover investigation on unlicensed plumbers that aired at 11:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7th and again at the noon and 5 p.m. newscasts the next day. We sent an email out to all of our members about the presentation but we realize not all of you saw that email or the show. If not, the link to the broadcast is here. The response has been remarkable:
Andrea Morehead, the anchor, said: "I'm pleased that members of the PHCC appreciated the story. We have received so many emails from licensed plumbers and others who continue to thank us for shining a spotlight on this issue. We certainly hope it helps not only the plumbing industry, but also consumers to keep them safe!"
- On Tuesday, the story was #1 on Google Alerts and continued throughout the day
- Monique Riggs of the Department of Natural Resources said "You guys are doing a fabulous job on publicizing licensure"
- National PHCC featured the story in their Online news to members throughout the country
- John Delgado, US Dept of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, saw the show and said "nice job"
- David Dietrich of Lohmeyer Plumbing asked to use the video at his next company meeting
- Jeff New of Mid-City Supply sent the link to his local CBS affiliate in South Bend to ask them to do a similar story
- The story is on the Indiana PHCC Facebook page and has been shared by National PHCC on their FB Page and by several contractors
This story was a long time in the making and many people are to be commended. A special thanks goes to Dave Nance, Nance Plumbing, Lebanon for helping us showcase the professional, licensed PHCC contractor.

Time To Renew Your License!

As members of Indiana PHCC we hope you will continue to help the industry to fight the good fight on licensing. To that end, contractors should have received their license renewals for journeymen, plumbing contractors and plumbing corporations via email. If not, the form is here. It is also available on our iaphcc.com website. The deadline to renew your license is December 31, 2011. Don't delay!
If you aren't a contractor, and are reading this, we bet you know one! Make sure he/she renews that license!
