Just A Note...
Citrus Springs Elementary is on a mission to rename their school mascot. They decided to make it a contest and have students write about what it should be and why. Since we had Coach Dabney Day on the grounds of Heritage Village, back in October, we wanted to share what student, Cole Baldner, had to write. (Cole is the son of Yvette and Dan, owners of Hot Heads) Enjoy!

"CAW-CAW" goes the magnificent creature the HAWK!!! I have two reasons why the hawk should be the schools newest mascot.
To begin with, the schools mascot should be the hawk because the Archie Dabney or Coach Dabney, the schools' first principal admires the hawk because it is a predator not prey. I think we should respect our schools' first principal and be the Citrus Springs Hawks!!!
By the same token, the hawk is a great mascot for our school because the word "hawk" stands for something, H stands for "heart", A stands for "academics", W stands for "wisdom", and K stands for "knowledge".
When all is said and done, those are my reasons why the hawk should be our schools' new mascot. Sorry to end this awesome story, but gotta go FLY!!!

ALSO, join us for the Dog Parade on Thursday, March 17th. Line up is at SuGaBuG Kids: 9:15am for the kids. Dog participants start at Burkes of Ireland.
