Cafe on the Avenue

 Tracy Carver and Rudy Trnosky

Tracy was born in South Georgia, where her entire family is rooted. At the age of five, her father was offered a job in Tallahassee, Fl. Tracy spent her adolescence in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High School in 1982. From there she went to work for a Holiday Inn while she attended college to pursue a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While attending college, Tracy's father was offered a position at Progress Energy. Tracy now having a daughter, decided that Crystal River would be the perfect place to raise a child. She moved from Tallahassee to Crystal River in 1989 and took a job at a local hotel and restaurant. After working there for eleven years, the hotel was sold and Tracy decided to start a business of her own. Shortly there after, A Cool Tan and Day Spa was opened. While juggling her family and her business, Tracy went back to school to get three major cosmetics licenses to be able to offer more services at her business. After three years of success,Tracy sold the business and signed a five year no-compete contract. The spa is still going under the name of Bronze Beach. Because Tracy's true passion was to be involved in the restaurant industry she decided to seek a job managing a local restaurant. After short time frame, Tracy ended up working for Café on the Avenue. Six months of serving along with Tracy's hard work and dedication took her from a server to General Manager. Six years down the road the current owner was considering selling the restaurant. A few short months later, Tracy was officially to new owner and operator of Café on the Avenue with her fiancé Rudy Trnosky.

Rudy achieved his bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts at the International Art Institute in Tampa.Rudy was born and raised in New Jersey. After graduating high school, he moved to Crystal River to work at his father's restaurant in Beverly Hills. His father passed away when Rudy was twenty-five and the restaurant closed. This is when Rudy became a Sous Chef for Café on the Avenue.

After a one year of hard work, peppered with blood, sweat and tears, the Café on the Avenue is still going strong. Driven by passion and dedication the Café is sure to be the perfect place for your next party, catering event, or even your Friday night date.

Coach Dabney Day was well attended at Heritage Village on November 13th. Thanks to all that made this dream a reality! Not only did we honor a GREAT man, but we also raised over $3,500.00 for the Coach Dabney Scholarship Fund. Here is the majority of the group that made this event happen! It was an honor to be a part of this!

Aunt B's Piano Recitals
From The Past...

Being in the Heritage House so much these days, I have many flash backs of my childhood years. Piano lessons in Aunt B's studio was a BIG part of mine (and many children's weekly route) that grew up in Crystal River. I have seen or spoke to a few of my friends (her pupils) in recent times. I wanted to share a few pictures with you of some of Aunt B's pupils that our paths have crossed recently. The Allen & Hagerty girls were at Coach Dabney Day in November, at Heritage Village. Margie and Christi were my neighbors in Tropic Terrace growing up, and Christi is my neighbor again today! I had one picture of Dana Hagerty Nycz with another childhood friend George Buzby, at recent event for Coach Dabney. I found Cathy Sparkman Fladung on Facebook, she had come to mind when I heard of Mr. Bob Kennedy passing away in recent times. Which, by the way, was a WONDERFUL man! My heart goes out to the family. Anyway, Cathy was another pupil! Please forgiving me for not knowing all proper names and spellings, today and in future ... haha

I do hope you enjoy the pictures and forward the newsletter to those that would enjoy as well. If you have any pictures of piano recitals with My Aunt B... please share ... I would love to post!

Have a Merry Christmas and thank you for your support
and encouragement with Heritage Village.

Sincerely,

Laura Lou Tolle Fitzpatrick
