All About Nature
Roger & Pat Osborne

Things You Can Find
 at the 5 and Dime!!

Growing up in Virginia with all the beautiful mountains, changes of seasons, snow, hunting, family and friends is certainly something that one could brag about. But, the reality is that once sand gets into your shoes you just can't seem to leave the state of Florida. This is exactly what happened to Roger Osborne, the owner of All About Nature.

Roger graduated from High School and went on to College at Beckley University. As time went by he explored a few jobs only to land a job with Woolworth Company. After working with this company for a while he was asked to transfer to Panama City Beach, Florida. It didn't take him very long to give the company a hardy "YES" and he became a Florida resident. He stayed in Panama City for a while and the opportunity to move to Ocala, Florida presented itself. Wanting to further explore the state he quickly gave an affirmative answer to that move as well. Little did he know that once he moved to Ocala, life as he knew it would change drastically!!

           ALL ABOUT NATURE
                      Our Baby
      is Growing Sooooooo BIG!
Here it is July and our wonderful century plant just keeps getting bigger and bigger! We have been told that it will probably be toward the end of July before the bloom completely matures. We all have watched over it and will be sorry to see the end come for it. The great news is that it will live on and on when the stalk is turned into a musical instrument known as the didgeridoo. I must say that we have learned so very much from our friend, the century plant. Thank you "CP" for giving us all these memories.
                                    ~ Roger & Pat Osborne

SuGaBuG Kids
School is out and summer has officially started for most of us. Try to think back to when you were a kid and want you loved most about summer. Was it sleeping in? Playing outside all day? Vacation with the family? Try your best to recreate at least one of these events this summer with your family. These are the memories that last and hopefully will be carried on by your children. I remember lots of camping trips during the summer, grilling outside and of course sleeping in. Summer camps and VBS were also on the schedule! I hope that Alexis is able to enjoy each of these as she grows up. So let's start out the summer with committing to our families that we will take a few hours each week to "enjoy" summer with them. Will you take the challenge? Where will you begin? Ice cream, on the patio after dinner ? Catching fireflies? Sleeping in on Saturday? Or maybe, and we hope you pick this one...Tuesday playdates at SuGaBuG Kids surrounded by new friends, making new memories. See ya'll there!
~ April Winkel

MAYO GALLERY
We will be closing within a few days. Don Mayo has been in the critical cardiac unit at Citrus Memorial, with his heart rate dropping to 27. He now has a double chamber pacemaker and doing well. His wife, Sue, will soon have a hip replacement along with other surgeries from the severe car accident several years ago. Just to make things more complicated, we have a sinkhole at our home and will have to be out of the house for 2-3 months.

Needless to say, it is unfortunate for the closing of the MAYO GALLERY, but with other priorities going on we felt it best and then to reopen at a later date when we can further serve our customers.

Our telephone number will remain the same, 352-795-DUCK (3825). Please feel free to call us anytime and we thank you for your patronage.
~ Sue & Don Mayo

My Heritage...

               ...from the

By Laura Lou Tolle Fitzpatrick

My Grandmother...
Edna Eubanks Barco    Better Known As "MEMA"

My "Mema" was born on July 1, 1902. Her birthday was always easy to remember...she was on the 1st, my brother, Huey,  was the 3rd, of course the 4th of July we will not forget, then Shane, my son, was July 6th...July was a VERY BUSY birthday month for the Tolle family, when she was alive.

As long as I can remember, Mema would never tell her age. Today, of course, I can figure it out...but back then, we really didn't know the year each elder family member was born, so it was pretty easy for us to just let it go...Every birthday, she would tell us she was 39...that was just that...39 it was!

Strolling Down Memory Lane

"Strolling down Memory Lane" is an article from the Citrus County Chronicle, that was written about Mema, and our family, on Wednesday, March 28, 1990. The writer was Esther Duncan and she was able to capture Mema's personality well...I hope you enjoy!

Here is a quote from her story...

"Summer vacations were especially happy times for a little girl, she said. Her family spent them on Shell Island, an island they owned near the Gulf."
