A New Home for the New Year: Cabrera and Griffin Home Dedications January 28th!
As family and friends gathered on a brisk January day, there was much excitement in the air as the Cabrera and Griffin families celebrated their home dedication with Evergreen Habitat for Humanity.
 David Moss, of Bank of America, the sponsoring partner of the Cabrera family home, Tom Taylor, of Wells Fargo, the sponsoring partner of the Griffin home presented the keys on this special occasion.
These two dedications marked the completion of the seven home Patten Park Development. Over 8,000 volunteer hours have been clocked in the past year.  "We will be celebrating the hard work of hundreds of volunteers, who have invested their time, energy and dollars into this project," said Josh Townsley, executive director of Evergren Habitat for Humanity. "It's very exciting and a huge blessing for me and our family," Lucrecia Cabrera said. "We had almost gave up when we got the call from Evergreen Habitat," Cristino Cabrera recalled. It was difficult for Lindsay Griffin to speak without tearing up on that day. "I'm looking forward to all our memories we're going to have here. It made going through the application process twice worth it!" Thank you to Wells Fargo, Bank of America and everyone involved in completing these two homes and this development. Every contribution means a great deal to Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and even more to those families we are partnering with to break the cycle of poverty. |
