Laughter and inspiring words were shared during the 2nd Annual Benefit Tea at The Heathman Lodge in Vancouver.  Katie Harman Ebner, Miss America 2002, encouraged all the women who attended to find their "inner beauty" during her keynote speech on Saturday, October 16th.

Ebner explained to the 250 attendees how women often feel they should do everything and are constantly comparing themselves to other women who juggle multiple responsibilities.

The purpose of the event was to bring women together to connect and reflect on their roles and appreciate how all of their talents serve their communities. It also served as a fundraising event for both Pacific Crest Academy and Evergreen Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program.

Women Build, a program of Habitat for Humanity International, enables women to help eliminate substandard housing by building homes and communities.  Evergreen Habitat for Humanity will have its first Women Build team beginning in June of 2011.

"Women Build is a great way for women to participate by having fun, helping a family, and making a difference with a hands-on approach," Executive Director Kristina Aitchison said.

Tea sandwiches, scones, petite fours and a variety of teas were the featured menu items.  Information booths about various women products were also available including a Habitat information booth.
