Linda Reid was elected this month as the newest Board Member for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity (EHFH).  Reid will be concentrating her efforts planning the upcoming 20th year anniversary celebration of EHFH next year and assisting the land acquisition committee to secure future building sites during her three year term.

Working in the Commercial Real Estate division for West Coast Bank, Reid who is an Assistant Vice President, has directly seen the effects of the housing market and how there has been an increased housing need within the Clark County community.

"We have a greater need now and want to get more donations so that we can build more houses to help more people," Reid said.

As the newest board member, Reid brings over thirty years of banking experience.  She is a 2009 Leadership Clark County graduate and currently serves as Board President for the Clark County Mural Society.  Reid is also a member of the Promotions Committee for the Vancouver Downtown Association and is on the Council for the Homeless Asset Building Coalition Committee.

Reid sees Habitat as a program that gives directly back to the community and said she loves the sweat equity aspect of the program.

"Homeowners are involved in the process and these houses are not just given to them," she said.

Reid said that EHFH has a good message and she will continue to build awareness about the Habitat program within the community.

"I think we have a very well rounded board and we can accomplish a lot with the backgrounds we have," she said.
