JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE REGIONAL TRANSIT DIALOGUE

The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) is hosting a special meeting of the Regional Transit Dialogue (RTD) Steering Committee.

The RTD has invited Robert Babbitt and John Tayer, who will present their planning experiences and the need for a regional vision in transit investments.

Dr. Robert Babbitt is the president of McDonald Transit Associates, Inc., which manages and/or operates 31 transit systems throughout the United States.  Clients include Fort Worth Transit Authority (FWTA), Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Regional Transit Authority in Nashville, as well as the city of Edmond's Citylink Transit.  Babbit will address how cooperative regional public transportation systems build better communities.

John Tayer is currently the District 0 representative for the board of Denver's Regional Transportation District.  Elected in 2007, Tayer is a leading advocate for the district's FasTracks Plan and the special transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities.  He will speak about the benefits and challenges of the Regional Transportation District governing structure.

The Regional Transit Dialogue (RTD) engages local elected officials, policy stakeholders, private sector leaders, and the general public to come together and envision how transit can serve the Central Oklahoma area in the years and decades to come.

Seating is limited to the first 100 for this special occasion.  Please RSVP to Kara Chiodo at
