SmartList
Did
you know you can rename your SmartList Columns? If you don't like columns
with names like ATYALLOC in your SmartList - just rename them.
Open a SmartList and click Columns. Change a column name in the Display
Name column and save the SmartList as a favorite.
Recurring Batches
Next time you setup a recurring batch,
put an underscore(_) or a "z" at the beginning of the batch to move all
deferred batches to the top or bottom of the batch list.

| Weakening Firms Focus on Cuts, Not New Products
|
Weakened
companies appear to be focusing more on cutting operating cost. The good news is that most executives see a
brighter year ahead: 74% of the respondents say they expect their companies'
profits to rise over the next 12 months, up from 46% in December 2009. Source: McKinsey Global Survey Results.

Greetings!
Ah, July! For many of us, it's time to take a much-deserved break, reconnect with
family, and let our overworked brains bliss out on sunsets and umbrella drinks.
This year, it looks like the economy is (slowly) coming back to life and
executives can enjoy a summer vacation without worrying that business will go
off a cliff. That's why I found one article in this month's newsletter so
interesting. A recent survey shows that the majority of senior finance execs
check in with the office several times a week, and one-third check in at least
once a day! Is this good news or bad news? On the one hand, it means there are
enough deals happening that CFOs find it necessary to stay involved. On the
other, it could signal that we finance types are obsessed with work, and simply
can't unplug! I prefer to take it as a good sign. If you have so much going on
that phoning in every day is important, good for you. Meanwhile, pass the
margaritas and hand me my cell phone!
Regards,

Unplugged is Unacceptable for Many CFOs
| | |
When is a vacation not really a
vacation? When you're a CFO, that's when. A recent survey of 1,400 CFOs revealed
the not-so-shocking truth: senior finance executives never really unplug from
the office, even on vacation. Why has checking in with the office during time
off become so commonplace? Has the instant access of today's technology forever
ruined a day at the beach for CFOs? Click here to read the full survey results, and see how you measure up to the
new breed of workaholics. (P.S. If you are reading this on vacation, you may be
a workaholic!)

Management Reporter
| |
Microsoft has introduced a
corporate performance management system for its Dynamics GP and SL products
that will provide real-time financial reporting for midsized businesses looking
to achieve greater visibility across their organizations.
Known as Management
Reporter, the product will act as the replacement
for Microsoft FRx, a financial reporting and analysis application available to
Microsoft Dynamics ERP customers. "This is the first step in a multi-year
roadmap to deliver broader corporate performance management capabilities across
our Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions," said Crispin Read, general manager of
Microsoft Dynamics ERP at Microsoft. "Management Reporter retains many elements
of the Microsoft FRx product but is built on a completely updated architecture
that will provide a new level of scalability and reliability for customers." To see an online demo of Management Reporter click here.
Management Reporter allows
Dynamics GP and SL product users to create, generate, help secure and publish
profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
FRx customers making the transition to Management Reporter can use a
downloadable migration tool. They will experience a variety of new features
including direct integration with the Microsoft Dynamics ERP general ledger and
a report library where reports can be secured, stored and viewed.

Load the Pipeline Marketing

Did you know that Microsoft Dynamics CRM is not just for managing your
customers and sales efforts? Microsoft
Dynamics CRM offers marketing management and automation so you can market more
effectively, improve productivity, and gain actionable insight into your
marketing campaigns. When sales numbers are below targets,
the sales team is pointing fingers at marketing because they aren't bringing in
enough leads and marketing is saying it is the sales department's fault because
they don't know how to follow-up on a lead. Does this sound familiar? Ultimately both sales and
marketing need to have access to a unified set of business data and then use
that "single version of truth" as the basis for both business planning and
subsequent sales and marketing activities. Click here to see a demo of how you can manage a
marketing campaign using Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Want to learn more? Contact us. |
