It's been a long time coming, but a change is gonna come...
Some of us deal with change well, soaking up the excitement like a child on christmas....and for most of the cats here thats exactly what they are doing.
They watched the volunteers knock out the walls to my office closet with a smile (meanwhile I wonder how much more I can handle?). It's like they are aware of their coming freedom, like they know we are doing this all for them. The staff and volunteers on the other hand wonder if we will survive all of these changes with our minds still fully intact!
Very very soon my old closet will be open space in a newly designed cat room... New walls (yes walls!) have arrived, and withing the next few days our cat room will be transformed into a free roaming cat room! Our little kitties will each have an opportunity to get out of their cage and stretch!!
The remodeling of the cat room is just one of the tranformations happening here at the Humane Society.
By the begining of September we will be using our new computers in the front office for intake and adoptions. Yes you read that right, we have finally stepped into the technology age!!! Now we will not spend so much time on paperwork!
We also have upgraded our phone system, that we are still learning how to use! So if anyone out there has any experience with Avaya phone systems please do not hesitate to contact me at lmessick@humanesocietycc.org to help us figure this out.
