Many of you may have heard that there is a concern within Charles County reguarding breed specific regulations.

The Humane Society of Charles County does not support the singling out of any breed for special or unique treatment for any reason. Suitable safety measures must be taken for the handling of individual dogs that have been shown to be dangerous. The revisions to the Animal Control regulations as proposed contain many more provisions than those relating to pit bulls, which are not supported by Humane Society of Charles County at this time. We welcome your input.

Bridgett
Bridget

Bridgett is a beautiful little Beagle Pit mix. When she came to us she sat in my office (yes that's right another office dog, I may never learn) and shivered. She was terrified of every sound she heard, and would hide under my desk for hours. It took her 3 whole days before she realized I was her friend, and after that she loved everyone she met.... as long as she met them in "her" office.

We found out that she got excited to see kittens, and she tried to run and play with every dog who went past "her" office! It was amazing to watch her transform from a scared little ball of shiver to a fun loving, can't wait to see everyone girl!

Last week a family came in with a one year old child (and at home they have a 1 year old cat!) and Bridgett was immediately smitten.

That family picked her up on Saturday, and while I was unable to be at the shelter to send her off, I know that she has a perfect home. There is nothing more she wanted than to have a young child and a cat to share her life with!

Don't worry, the office is not empty yet, we still have Fat Cat.
