"The kids aren't taking care of her"
That was the reason Penny's owner released her to the Humane Society back in November 2009. She was a four month old puppy, weighing only six and a half pounds on the day she was admitted. She could hardly stand. The kids weren't taking care of her - and neither were Mom or Dad. She had almost been starved to death! In just the first three days at the Humane Society, she gained almost three pounds!
Penny was with us for approximately two weeks and then was adopted by Caitlin Taylor. She now weighs a healthy and happy 35 pounds. Her favorite activities are playing ball and romping with Suzie, her Welsh Terrier housemate. Caitlin frequently takes them both to the dog park to play catch and socialize. We took this picture when she came in to see us recently. Her coat and her eyes are now bright and lustrous just like her sparkling personality! |
