A Time for New Beginnings...

For most of us the New Year means new beginnings, a time to start over. We make resolutions, and try our best to keep them.

Our Goal here at the Humane Society of Charles County is to find forever homes for the many animals that come to us by no fault of their own.

Sneakers has been with us since April 26th, patiently awaiting a family to call her own. She hopes for a new warm house, with lots of love.

This beautiful girl was left in our night drop, weighing in at only 46 pounds. We don't know much about her life before she came to us, but we do know that at some point she must have been loved.

Sneakers now weighs a healthy 66 pounds. She is gorgeous, the type of dog you can't help but notice. She spends her days in her kennel playing with balls and squeaky toys. She could play with her ball for hours (and she does)! One of her favorite summertime games is playing with the hose, she'll amuse us and herself chasing the water from the hose and getting a bath at the same time.

She is VERY smart also. She knows every command we ask of her, and probably a few we haven't. When it is time to take her outside, she sits and patiently waits for us to put her leash on.  She is an amazing dog, and we cannot understand what she is still doing here with us. She has touched the heart of every staff member and volunteer, and we can't wait to find her happy ending.

Please help Sneakers have a better start in the New Year. Maybe you're not ready for a new pet, but maybe you know someone who is? Forward this to your friends, post it on your social media sites, and spread the word that this wonderful girl is patiently waiting for someone to love!

Adoption fees have been cut in half for all Black and White cats through the first week of January! For cats 4 months and older, that means the cost of adoption is just $32.50. Younger kittens are slightly higher because our costs are greater.

All cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered before adoption, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, and all vaccines are current. Click here to see Cats for Adoption at the Humane Society.

Hurry in - Your Holiday Tux is waiting!

Holiday doodleThank you to everyone for your generous support of the Humane Society of Charles County this holiday season. If the animals could speak, they would thank you as well.  Whether you made a monetary donation, a gift of your time, or opened your heart and home to a new family member - you made their lives a little happier.

Once again, thank you form the bottom of our hearts.
Sincerely,
Jean Stuller
