| Dear Friend: |
Well, it appears we have gone from 90 degree June to 75 degree July? I love Ohio!
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for being a customer of The Richwood Banking Company. I believe in today's world, customers of many companies are taken for granted too often. I never lose sight of what makes our institution strong. I believe our staff is great, but without you, our customer, their job wouldn't be necessary! For this, I simply say, Thank You.
Now for the Government news. It looks like the Financial Reform Bill will pass early July with President Obama signing it by the Fourth of July weekend. The Bill contains many new regulations and rules that will change the way banks do business from this point forward. I attended a Community Bankers Association of Ohio roundtable recently and the speaker stated "if Banks continue to do business the way you have done it for the last ten years, you will not be around ten years from now"!
The Government has decided to limit many of the ways financial institutions earn money. As a result, banks will have to go back to the drawing board when deciding the pricing of their accounts and financial products. The front page of the Wall Street Journal announced the "end of free checking" with the Financial Reform Bill.
The Richwood Banking Company is dedicated to offering great products and services to our customers. We have some exciting things on the way to not only accomplish this goal, but also to allow us a chance to fight back against Government over-regulation. I would appreciate any feedback you have to offer and look forward to working with our customers to find the best way to provide the products and services you need and want long into the future!
Happy Fourth of July!

| FEATURED BUSINESS |
Imagine a time when the nearest hospital was at least 30 miles away. Now imagine being the mother of an injured child or the family of someone suffering a heart attack. Finding healthcare beyond a doctor's office was inconvenient at best-and unavailable at worst. Not a very comforting thought, is it? It was this very situation that gave rise to the birth of Memorial Hospital.
In 1945, influential members of the community recognized the need to bring quality healthcare closer to home for the residents of Union County.
They discussed the idea and managed to gain funding through the Hill-Burton Act, but it wasn't enough to cover the cost of building a new hospital. That's when the people of Union County showed the spirit of caring they're renowned for. Together, farmers, merchants, laborers and business owners gave whatever they could. Their support totaled more than $300,000 and on March 17, 1952, Memorial Hospital opened with 40 beds and a staff eager to care for the people who made it all possible.
Since then, Union County and the surrounding areas have grown to over 65,000 residents- and Memorial Hospital grew right alongside. Today, Memorial Hospital is a 97-bed primary and emergency care center with over 30 additional service lines including:
* The Heart Partnership, in collaboration with The Ohio State University Medical Center, to expand the cardiology services in our area; * The Miracle Life Center, welcoming the newest members of our community into the world; * Laboratory and imaging services; * Long-term nursing care; * Physical, occupational and speech therapy; * Oncology and more.
Compared to other facilities, some may consider MHUC a hometown hospital-but we have a big commitment to the community we grew up with in the role we play, the concern we express for our friends and neighbors and the services we provide to back up that concern. |

| Getting to know your banker! |
Hi, my name is Connie Waterer. I was an employee at the bank in LaRue before it was purchased by the Richwood Banking Company in 1998. I have been working as a customer service representative in LaRue for The Richwood Banking Company for 12 years. I enjoy my co-workers and helping serve the customers. I grew up in Marion and graduated from Harding High School. It was then that I met my husband Randy. We were married and moved to the LaRue area where we raised our two sons, Michael & Adam. We have 5 grandchildren who are very dear to us. I am an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Marion, where I help in the nursery, sing in the choir, help teach bible school, and am the treasure of the ladies missionary. I have also enjoyed raising money and walking in the relay for life every year.
I like spending time with my family, working in the yard, taking pictures, and working with flowers to make arrangments. I also enjoy fishing in Alaska where I caught the one that didnt get away. A 60 pound halibut. We have been to Alaska 3 times and are hoping to go again. |
