Greetings!,

Thank you for visiting our booth at General Convention. With your support of taking time to visit our booth and meeting us and the SIMinarians (SIM grant recipients) who helped staff our booth, we believe we can now call you "friend."

In John 15:15 Jesus gives lofty status to being called "friend". If you have taken the step of joining our Circle of Seminarian Friends, we welcome you as a FRIEND of the future ordained leaders your contributions support. If you have not signed up, please go to our web site www.simministry.org to become a part of our ministry so significant for the future of The Episcopal Church.

As the only organization raising funds on a national basis for the support of Episcopal seminarians, SIM was pleased that, like you, so many visited our booth at General Convention. Many were learning of our ministry for the first time, even though SIM's ministry was founded in 1857 and now has a history of providing over $6 million to over 5000 Episcopal seminarians. A number of Episcopalians were impressed with our "5% solution" offered by the Circle of Seminarian Friends [it only takes 5% of worshipping Episcopalians joining the Circle at our suggested monthly donation of $18.57 to cover the tuitions of ALL Episcopal seminarians]. You also had the privilege of meeting the "SIMinarians" staffing our booth as we proudly showed off "products" of our ministry, seminarians called to serve The Episcopal Church. They are your and our future ordained leaders.

Booth visits were among the highlights for our "SIM-at-General Convention" review, but there was one significant lowlight - the seminarian scholarship support attained at the 2009 General Convention was eliminated for the upcoming 2013-2015 triennium. The historic seminarian support from The Episcopal Church was short-lived, which in essence, amplifies the importance of SIM's ministry.

With many new friends from General Convention, SIM will continue our important ministry of investing in the education, training and formation of future ordained leaders for our church. We are glad you sensed that importance of SIM's mission by visiting our booth and expressing your desire to keep abreast of our ministry. We are pleased we can now call you "friend".

Faithfully,
