To my Loyal Loft Loving Friends and Clients,
There was a really good article in MSN Money about 10 Reasons that you should buy a home (Loft) now. I will summarize the article below for those that are on the fence about buying.
Both of the Properties in New Bedford have dropped their price by $10,000. These lofts are really great and the development is truly focused on providing options for working artists.
I've gotten 17 responses to my "Why a Loft?" survey, I'll summarize below.
It is a gift to be able to help clients find homes that they love.

"Why a Loft?" Survey Responses |
What do you love about living in a Loft?
All of the respondents loved the overall aesthetics and sense of style that a loft afforded them. Specifically, they also noted that they loved the open space and the freedom to place object and create rooms.
What are the negatives of living in a Loft? 75% complained about a lack of outdoor space. Other concerns included the areas that lofts are typically built in, the noise transmission between units and through floors, and their inability to BBQ.How would you describe your lifestyle? 35% Straight shingle, 12% Gay single, 35% Straight couple, 18% Family with Straight parents. (It's my guess that some of my gay clients probably forgot to take this survey).
What else would you like to say about living in a loft?
"I'm interested in live/work spaces. Nice living space with workshop or studio. High ceilings are also important; especially in workshop, but good in living space, too. I believe a true loft is a loft because of the vertical space available."
| |
"The best thing about at loft to us is the open space it provides. There are unlimited possibilities for creating our space for living."
"I don't, nor ever have, actually lived in a loft, but have spent time at friends' lofts over the years. If I were ever to consider living in a city, a loft is definitely the way I would go, and WELOVELOFTS is the first place I'd go to find one!"
"Lofts are appealing due to the history and character that their building have, giving them that added value and sense on belonging - of place and time."
"Its a great experience but be ready to live within each others close space, if you can do that this is for you. You must like decorating which most loft people do. Great for single couples or a young couple. I love it so far."
| |
"It is amazing to have a blank canvas to create a space to live."
"A loft can be designed. The bathroom and the kitchen are fixed, but everything else is up to you. I want a small bedroom to maximize living space. In my loft, I can do that; in a regular apartment, you're stuck. You can't easily put a kiln or a grand piano in most 700 sq ft spaces, but you can if you aren't limited by pointless walls."
| |
"The flexible space, with a mixture of studio and living space, high ceilings, great party space, and the light! "
| | "Open concept is appealing. Safety." |

404 Roosevelt Ave, Unit 305 |
OK, so Unit 305 is still for sale. Since I want sell this beautiful Loft and move on to renovating another property, I am lowering the price to $205,000. At this price, I will still throw in the 25,000 BTU AC unit (installed), and provide a $2500 credit for appliances. Let's see if that shakes things up a bit.
