River Falls Days Parade If you were there Friday evening, July 13th you saw the CAFES float in the River Falls Days parade accompanied by Freddy the Falcon (aka Professor Peter Rayne!). Despite the 30 minute rain delay, crowds still lined the streets and everyone enjoyed themselves. View photos... |
Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Despite some weather "events" Farm Technology Days in Outagamie County went on as planned. Over the course of the three day event, over 70 alumni stopped by our booth or the Alumni Tent. An abbreviated history display (1960s - 2000s) debuted at the Alumni Tent and helped spur some reminiscing among the alumni. Our booth give-away item - cow, corn and tractor shaped pens were a huge hit.

Centennial Scavenger Hunt
During the month of July we invited anyone on campus to take part in our Centennial Scavenger Hunt. A dozen people took us up on our offer. Megan Learman who works in the Global Connections office on campus was the grand prize winner! Here's one of the web-based questions for you: A dairy industry executive from Genex Cooperative, Inc. participated in the new promotional video for the dairy science program featured on the program website. What is his name?

Centennial Courtyard Construction started on the Courtyard! A crew from Facilities removed overgrown and problem trees and the digging began. The loop walkway and retaining wall are now in. The faculty and staff working group is now reviewing the plans to decide what and where to begin with the plantings. Watch for updates this fall and information on the dedication of the space this coming spring.
