Our Centennial Year is Here!

Join us in celebrating CAFES Centennial year! We have lots in store, from parades and scavenger hunts honoring our history, to the establishment of new traditions and technology taking us into the future. We're excited to showcase the spirit and pride of River Falls! To keep you in the loop, we're launching a special "Centennial Series" FenceLine to be released bi-monthly through April 2013. Below you will find an overview of the events scheduled in April and May. The next issue, coming out in June will feature photos and a summary of these events as well as upcoming June and July events.

April Events

Guests at the 2006 CAFES Award banquet stand and applaud when Dr. Gary Onan was announced as the CAFES Faculty Member of the Year

Centennial Kick-off (April 19)

We will kick-off our Centennial with a special afternoon honoring two groups important to our College and the agricultural industry - our Wisconsin Distinguished Agriculturalists and our University Distinguished Teachers. The Agricultural Hall of Fame, the wall honoring the Distinguished Agriculturalists, will be rededicated this afternoon. The day will culminate with the annual awards banquet in the University Center Ballroom recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of our students. The reception will take place at 5 p.m. with dinner to follow.

Last chance to submit your favorite memory (story and/or photo) of your time at UWRF! All submissions will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to the Falcon Shop and will be posted on our Virtual Centennial Scrapbook. The winner will be announced at the CAFES Awards Banquet.

Midwest Horse Fair Alumni Reception (April 21)

The Midwest Horse FairŪ is one of the top 3-day horse fairs in America. Held in Madison, WI, hundreds of clinics, seminars and educational events are presented by some of the top horse professionals from around the country. Over 500 vendor booths offer something for everyone. In what we hope will become an annual tradition, we invite all alumni at the Fair to renew old friendships at the first UWRF Alumni Reception at the Midwest Horse Fair. Join us that Saturday, from 4-6pm in the Michigan Room of the Clarion Suites, right on the grounds of the Alliant Energy Center complex, with a walkway connecting to the Exposition Hall. Professor Peter Rayne is planning to attend the reception.

May Events

Crops/Soils Judging Team Alumni Reunion (May 12)
