Annual Family Day Draws Record Numbers
Family Day in October offered friends and families of UWRF students an opportunity to see the who, what, when, where and why of their student's home away from home. Collaborative efforts by many offices and student groups on campus gave students an opportunity to share their UWRF pride.
First-Year Experience has been coordinating Family Day for the past five years and has since seen a steady increase in attendance from 200 participants the first year to nearly 1,500 in 2009.

Students Trek to South Pole Two UWRF physics majors are getting an opportunity of a lifetime by participating in cutting edge research at the South Pole. The international IceCube project is a collaborative effort involving 15 U.S. groups together with partners from Belgium, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and The United Kingdom. They are working to better understand some of the most energetic events in the universe.
UWRF is one of two undergraduate schools involved in the project. UWRF students, Kyle Jero and Drew Anderson, are blogging their experience which will take them to Oden, Sweden; Monte Video, Uruguay; Antarctica; and Punta Arenas, Chile.
