New Logo

In May, we celebrate Older Americans Month by recognizing the contributions of older adults in our community.  We take this opportunity to highlight our local Older Americans programs that have provided vital support for seniors for several decades in order to enhance their quality of life and promote healthy aging.

Congratulations to the many friends, clients, volunteers, partners, donors, family members and staff of the Alliance on Aging who are part of our local senior network.

You can help to ensure the continuation of Older Americans Programs in our community by supporting the Reauthorization of Older Americans Act.

 Everybody's Doin It . . . Aging!

There's Still Time to Reserve Your Spot on The Bus!

Join others from throughout the County on Tuesday, May 8 for a trip to Salinas to appear before our County Board of Supervisors and celebrate Older Americans Month

A Monterey Salinas Transit (MST) bus will pick up seniors at the Sally Griffin Active Living Center in Pacific Grove, then head over to the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside, and make a final pickup at the Alliance on Aging office in Salinas.  The bus will then proceed to the Board of Supervisors meeting where a Resolution will be read recognizing Older Americans Month. Let's fill this bus and let our community and local policy makers know the combined power of seniors in our community!

Breakfast treats and a boxed lunch will be provided at no cost! Bus

Flowers for Mama

Still Time to Participate

On Mother's Day, honor your mother, grandmother or their memory by having a beautiful flowering plant from Rocket Farms delivered to a woman living in long-term care who might otherwise not be acknowledged on this special day.  Alliance on Aging's Ombudsman Program protects the rights of 2,000 of the most vulnerable seniors who reside in our local nursing homes & assisted living facilities.  Ombudsmen make regular visits to these facilities to investigate complaints including abuse & neglect and also advocate for quality care and treatment.  Many of these seniors are without family or friends to speak on their behalf and often the Ombudsman is their only outside visitor!

Click here to donate so that we may deliver a flowering plant(s) in time for Mother's Day.

If you would like to help deliver plants on Saturday, May 12, please call 655-1334 and speak with Michelle Noseworthy.  It is a rewarding experience to see how appreciative the women are when receiving a beautiful plant and also a visitor.  Families are encouraged to participate.
