CONFESSIONS OF AN ENTREPRENEUR

2011, Taking the FEAR Out of Fund-Raising: Turning Fund-raising into Fun-raising

The fact is, a lot of nonprofits struggle with fund-raising. To be nonprofit means you have to be comfortable asking people for money. Now, there are ways to make the ask a little less intimidating. You can host a wine tasting or a clothing exchange and charge your friends admission. You can coordinate a community or street garage sale and ask your neighbors to donate some or all of the proceeds. Or, you can host a garage sale yourself and ask your neighbors to donate items for the sale.  These are just a few fun-raising ideas that aren't the typical in-your-face, give me money requests.

Because fund-raising tends to be the life-support of every nonprofit, this year we'll be devoting a considerable amount of energy to providing you with resources, ideas, and training seminars that will help you and your volunteers find a comfortable Fun-Raising medium so you can do the work you're called to do.

In upcoming newsletters, we'll spotlight creative fundraising strategies and best practices that hopefully, will inspire you to overcome your fear of fund-raising. If you wish to schedule a training seminar for your board and/or volunteers, please give us a call at (770) 286-3128.
Good luck and best wishes in 2011!
