Adapting Large-Scale Fundraising Ideas

In my research I come across some really innovative fundraising ideas that are appropriate for both large and small nonprofits. JCPenney raises money for afterschool programs through its Afterschool Round-Up fundraiser where customers can "round-up" their purchases to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to the JCPenney Afterschool Fund. Susan G. Komen for the Cure raises money for cancer research through a similar partnership with Kroger.

You don't have to be a large nonprofit to explore similar partnerships within your community. Talk with the small business owners in your neighborhood. Make the case for your programs and explain definitively how they can benefit from joining and supporting your cause.
