Georgia Ferrets is a small organization with the primary purpose of taking care of ferrets awaiting adoption. The organization had much success re-selling high-quality cheesecakes made by a local bakery. The fundraising strategy provides a predictable earned income stream and is simple, straightforward, and low risk. The organization earns $5.50 for each cake they sell. In the first year, they earned $7,200!  
 
Slightly out of the box thinking, but effective none the less. Get your board and volunteers together to see how many creative ways you can raise money this holiday season!

Home Depot Home Depot - Building Healthy Communities Grant Program
Grants, up to $2,500, are now available to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public schools or tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. who are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community.  Grants are made in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase or tools or materials.
Only grants submitted through the online application process will be considered for funding. The current grant cycle ends December 15th. For more information, visit the Home Depot website.
