| Meet William |
We love to share stories about the adults and children who are recieving services from The Arc CCR. Here is a story directly from one of our proud parents!
William has a rare, genetic condition, called Joubert Syndrome which affected the development of his brain. William's development is significantly and globally delayed. As parents, our goal for our son is for him to walk, talk, eat, play and learn just like other children. He has to work exponentially harder to achieve the same goals that come naturally for his typically developing peers. It is our job as parents to provide William with all of the resources he needs to achieve those goals.
If "it takes a village to raise a child", it takes a kingdom to raise a child with disabilities. The Arc has been an integral part of that kingdom in providing our family with rolling access financial assistance. We have been able to pay for William's ongoing healthcare and to provide him with therapy services and specially adapted toys and equipment that insurance does not pay for. William is a happy, healthy two-year-old. He is beginning to take steps in a walker and is beginning to use sign language for communication. With the Arc's continued support, William will reach his maximum potential! Emily L. (William's Mom) |
| Golf Tournament Success! |
OVER $20,000 (NET!) RAISED FOR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES! It was a beautiful day to hit the links! On May 13th, over 80 golfers got out their clubs and spikes to support programs and services at one of The Arc's biggest fund raisers of the year. Although times are tough, we were overwhelmed with the generosity of our sponsors, donors and golfers.
As many organizations are canceling their major fund raisers, we were able to not only host our tournament, but we raised almost as much money as last year! Quite a feat in this economy!
So thank you, thank you, thank you for your support! Stay tuned for stories on how this $20,000 is impacting the children we serve.

We are forming a group consisting of parents, siblings, individuals with disabilities, medical professionals and anyone who would like to participate to serve as sounding boards or "Arc Ambassadors" for new parents or families. Those who have been through it know how hard it can be to first find out that your child has a disability, and then the overwhelming task of learning everything you need to in order to make sure she receives what she needs.
